The Grounds of Alexandria serves homestyle food and specialty coffee in a former pie factory with brick walls and an organic garden. The Grounds of Alexandria opened in 2012 and is located in Huntley St, Alexandria, Sydney.

As part of an extension of the site and operations, 360 developed a landscape masterplan and detailed designs for new gardens, entries, laneways, rooftop landscapes, market spaces and functions’ amenities. The works were commissioned by Ramzey Choker, with architecture by Acme & CO, and were completed in 2012.

Size: 2,500m2

Design Statement

Opened in April 2012, The Grounds is built on the philosophy of creating experiences for communities through quality products, innovations and an ever-evolving vision. Located in a former industrial precinct from the 1920s, The Grounds is an innovative, sustainable, food venue combining science, industrialism and organic gardens into one awe-inspiring space. Built into the remnants of a heritage-listed warehouse and spilling into an enormous courtyard and organic garden in Sydney’s west, The Grounds is both stunning and about as culturally indispensable as the Harbour Bridge.

Remaining true to the sites heritage of organic industries, which originally included tanneries, wool washing factories and market gardens, The Grounds provides a wholesome, produce-driven menu that is fresh, fun and innovative.
