Design Statement

Mobility Therapy Courtyard

Rehabilitation aims to improve the abilities of children and young people who have disabilities related to a condition they were born with or have acquired through disease or injury.

The Landscape Design responds to the Project Theme of "Healing through Regeneration". The design was developed through extensive expert consultation and has resulted in for a fluid landscape that is integral to the functions and operation of the new buildings. A stimulating, dynamic and healing landscape provides for the requirements of occupational therapy and physiotherapy treatment. Flexible open space is created with a variety of materials, forms and objects used for integrated and multi-functional treatment, observation and interaction.

Mental Health

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network provides a range of services to support the positive mental health of children and young people and to care for those who experience problems associated with mental illness.

The rooftop landscape was developed through extensive expert consultation and is integral to the functions and operation of the new building. The Landas cape provides various opportunities for respite, play and social interaction in a space that is at once tactile, robust and safe.
